“The Idol Shepherd” In Zechariah 11:17 we read the following passage “Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock!…”. This passage refers to the Antichrist.(John 12:13) He is also a religious leader as this passage clearly indicates. He demands worship as God (See 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4, Daniel 11:37). The reason he is referred to as the “IDOL” Shepherd instead of as the “Idle” Shepherd as all new Bibles translate it is because the passage is referring to a prophecy concerning a talking statue which will become a speaking Idol! See Revelation 13:13-18.
