Did Jesus Tell A Lie? John 7:8 “Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come.”(KJV) Now lets read the passage in the ESV and see what it says.”You go up to the feast. I am not going up to this feast,for my time has not yet fully come.” Now a little further down in the passage we find out that Jesus did go up to the feast(Verse 10)!! Now one word makes a difference in this passage(depending on which Bible you “prefer” )which will cause Jesus to be lying or telling the truth. That word is “Yet”. So in one Bible Version Jesus has not lied to His disciples because he says He goes not up YET. In the other He does because the word YET has been removed. I will let you figure it out! I will go with the Bible that has Jesus telling the truth because after all He is the God of Truth and any lie is not of the Truth(1 John 2:21)!!!
