Proverbs 20:9 “Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?” As I was reading this verse I began to meditate on what it meant and the Lord showed me the following things about the verse that I thought was very interesting! let me share. First when the question is asked by Solomon at that time no one could say they had a clean heart or was truly pure from their sin. However since Jesus went to the Cross that has all changed. Now as the redeemed we can say by the Grace of God we are pure from our sin. The first part of the verse can no man say except in self deceit. No one can make their own heart clean saved or lost. This can only be accomplished by the Blood Atonement and Jesus is the one who makes our heart clean not us or anything we do!! We must get back to the message of the Cross and realize we can not save our selves nor can we keep ourselves saved through our works! It is only through the Grace of God we are saved and only by His grace we are kept!!! Anything above this is our own self righteousness!
